Namaqua Wines selects SIG as preferred Carton Packaging Supplier

Namaqua Wines now fills its low-alcohol wines into SIG SlimlineBloc 1,000 ml packs supplied by SIG.

Namaqua Wines, a prominent wine producer in the Southern Hemisphere, has partnered with SIG as its preferred supplier for carton packaging, specifically for its low-alcohol wine range. This marks Namaqua’s first investment in its own filling machine for aseptic carton packs, having previously relied on a co-packer for this process.

Situated on South Africa’s west coast, Namaqua Wines is renowned for its high-quality wines and commitment to sustainability and innovation. The company has chosen the SIG Slimline Aseptic filling machine and has commenced filling its wide array of low-alcohol wines into SIG SlimlineBloc 1,000 ml carton packs.

Gabor Rapolthy, Head of Marketing and Analytics at Namaqua Wines, expressed the company’s strategic vision with this investment, stating, “By investing in our own filling technology for aseptic carton packs for the first time, we aim to pave the way for further growth, starting with our low-alcohol wine range. With over 75 years of wine production experience, including the fastest-growing wine brand in South Africa for the past two years with our Raindance brand, our partnership with SIG will support our growth trajectory, enhance production capacity, and broaden our reach in the South African market.”

South Africa is globally recognized for its wine production, and Namaqua Wines has established itself as a leading brand known for its exceptional wines. Leveraging its winemaking expertise and collaborating with local winemakers, Namaqua ensures its wines capture the unique essence and characteristics of the region. The winery boasts a diverse portfolio, catering to various tastes and occasions. According to Namaqua Wines, they produce almost one in six liters of wine in South Africa.

Abdelghany Eladib, President & General Manager for India, the Middle East, and Africa at SIG, highlighted the significance of this partnership, stating, “SIG has been a long-standing presence in South Africa, and this new collaboration with Namaqua Wines marks another milestone for us in the country.
