new Touchpoint Sustainability showcases print and paper industry’s sustainability efforts

Print and paper industry’s role in global sustainable transformation.

At drupa 2024, the new Touchpoint Sustainability (tps) forum will highlight the print and paper industry’s role in global sustainable transformation. This central forum, running from May 28 to June 7, focuses on the industry’s achievements often overlooked by the broader audience. Approximately 30 exhibitors will present best practice examples across the value chain, demonstrating both the current status and future prospects. The 400 m² booth, serving as both a dialogue platform and showroom, is hosted and designed by the German industrial association VDMA Printing and Paper Technology.

Dr. Andreas Pleßke, Chairman of the Board and CEO at Koenig & Bauer and drupa president, emphasized the significance of drupa as a platform for discussing sustainability, digitalization, and technological innovations in the print and paper industry. He noted, “Forums that are open to several exhibitors, like the Touchpoint Sustainability, are very special points of attraction.”

The forum brings together stakeholders from various sectors to showcase how technology can drive industry transformation. Participants include industry giants like Epson, HP, Koenig & Bauer, Kurz, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen, Müller Martini, and Voith, as well as specialized start-ups.

Thomas Schiemann, member of the board of management at VDMA Printing and Paper Technology, highlighted the industry’s dedication to addressing sustainability challenges. He stated, “The concept to have students as partners for talks and discussions at the entire booth is intended to make young people more interested in our industry.”

The Touchpoint exhibition area is organized according to different areas of the value chain and time factors, focusing on issues such as energy and resource consumption, material use, recycling, and climate neutrality. The forum also features an extensive accompanying program with speakers from politics, business, product development, and academia.

With its diverse program formats, including keynotes, lectures, panel discussions, and interactive sessions, the Touchpoint Sustainability offers insights into innovative solutions and fosters collaboration and idea exchange. Visitors can explore the forum from May 28 to June 7 in Hall 14 Booth D60 or visit the official website for more information.
