Sidel has received an EcoVadis Gold Medal for 2026, placing the packaging equipment supplier among the top 5% of companies assessed globally for sustainability performance.
The rating recognises Sidel’s progress across environmental, social and governance areas, following an assessment of its management systems, reporting practices, supply chain processes and business ethics.
According to the company, the 2026 evaluation highlighted its environmental management framework, transparency and disclosure, as well as the integration of sustainability requirements into procurement and supplier engagement. The assessment also covered social performance, governance structures, employee initiatives and ethics practices across the organisation.
Its approach includes collaboration with customers, suppliers, external partners and communities to extend sustainability considerations across operations and the packaging value chain.
“This recognition is a testament to the collective efforts of teams across the entire organisation,” said Francesca Bellucci, Vice-President for Strategy and Sustainability at Sidel.
“Achieving EcoVadis Gold at Group level demonstrates that sustainability is deeply embedded in the way we operate and create value for our customers, employees, partners and communities. While we are proud of this accomplishment, we also see it as an incentive to continue raising our ambitions and driving continuous improvement.”
Sidel said the rating supports its wider decarbonisation programme, which targets a 72.8% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions and a 30% reduction in Scope 3 emissions by 2030, compared with 2019 levels.
The company is also working towards net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its full value chain, covering Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions, by 2050.
Sidel said it will continue strengthening its ESG performance while supporting customers in reducing the environmental impact of packaging production and progressing towards its longer-term sustainability targets.
