Taghleef Industries introduces PVC-free PP graphic films for signage and display applications

 

 

 

Taghleef Industries has introduced a PVC-free range of polypropylene graphic films for visual communication, signage, wall graphics, displays and outdoor advertising, extending its film portfolio beyond packaging and labels into the graphics market.

 

 

The range comprises printable films developed for UV inkjet and latex wide-format printing, together with overlamination films offered in gloss, matte, DL Soft Touch®, anti-scratch, sandy, leather and canvas finishes. Printable and overlamination grades are also available using bio-based and recycled feedstock options, with Taghleef stating that these retain the performance standard of the core range.

 

 

According to the company, the PP-based platform provides up to 35% higher surface yield than standard alternatives. Taghleef also cites dimensional stability, printability and compatibility with a broad range of pressure-sensitive adhesives as characteristics intended to meet converting and large-format printing requirements.

 

 

“This is our first step into the graphics segment, and it’s built on the same technical foundation that’s underpinned our work in labels for years. We wanted a PVC-free substrate that didn’t ask converters to compromise on print performance to get there,” said Diana Dedeic, Product Manager Labels, Taghleef Industries.

 

 

The films are intended for applications including retail signage, wall graphics, exhibition and event displays, and interior décor. The range targets converters considering alternatives to PVC-based graphic substrates and brand owners assessing large-format materials with a defined environmental profile.

 

 

The launch follows Taghleef Industries’ initial entry into the visual communication market earlier this year. The company describes the new range as the first phase of a broader portfolio of substrates planned for the graphics segment, based on its chlorine-free PP platform. The platform excludes PVC, chlorine and plasticiser chemistry, while designed to provide performance comparable with conventional graphics films.
