Tetra Pak has introduced a new 48 oz (1,420 ml) format for its Tetra Brik Aseptic Edge carton package in the United States and Canada, expanding its aseptic carton portfolio for dairy and beverage applications. The new format is designed for products including milk, creamers, juice, plant-based beverages and ready-to-drink coffee.
The launch adds a larger pack size to the existing Tetra Brik Aseptic Edge range and is intended to provide beverage producers with an additional packaging option in the premium and family-size segments. According to Tetra Pak, the carton features a slanted top design and the company’s LightWing 30 tethered cap, which remains attached to the package after opening and allows the carton to be reclosed after use.
The package is manufactured at Tetra Pak’s facility in Denton, Texas, and is being made available to beverage producers across the US and Canadian markets. The company stated that the carton has been developed to improve consumer convenience while maintaining the logistical advantages associated with aseptic carton packaging.
In addition to the new size, the carton incorporates FSC-certified paperboard and is compatible with Tetra Pak’s custom printing capabilities, providing a larger printable surface area for product information and branding. The pack’s tall profile and broad front panels are intended to increase shelf visibility while supporting efficient distribution and storage.
The introduction of the 48 oz format reflects ongoing activity within the beverage packaging sector to expand carton packaging options for ambient products. Aseptic cartons continue to be adopted across dairy, juice and plant-based beverage categories due to their ability to preserve products without refrigeration during distribution and storage.
