Waste2Wear has appointed Kwality Holdings as its exclusive partner for South Africa, Botswana and Namibia, with reusable shopping bags made from post-consumer recycled plastic forming the initial focus of the agreement.
The partnership will give retailers, hospitality operators and other businesses in Southern Africa access to Waste2Wear’s portfolio of recycled products, including reusable bags, packaging solutions, uniforms, apparel, promotional merchandise and hospitality items. The products are supported by recycled-content verification and supply-chain traceability using blockchain technology, according to the companies.
The agreement combines Waste2Wear’s recycled textile manufacturing capabilities with Kwality Holdings’ sourcing, distribution and customer relationships in the region. It is intended to address growing demand from businesses seeking alternatives to conventional retail bags and other single-use or virgin-plastic products.
George Tsogas, CEO of Waste2Wear, said the partnership would support the company’s entry into the African market with traceable recycled products. “Shahzaadee Ballim’s expertise in sourcing, distribution and customer relationships makes Kwality Holdings exactly the right partner to bring our recycled bags and sustainable products to the region,” he said.
Shahzaadee Ballim, CEO of Kwality Holdings, said the agreement would provide organisations with products backed by measurable recycled content and supply-chain accountability. She added that the partnership could help businesses make more responsible procurement decisions while supporting circular-economy development across the region.
Kwality Holdings, which operates in sourcing, chain-store supply and international import and export, will manage regional market development and distribution.
The companies did not disclose financial terms, expected sales volumes, production locations or a timetable for the wider product rollout. The launch nevertheless establishes a new regional supply channel for recycled-content shopping bags and related packaging products across three Southern African markets for retail and commercial procurement programmes.
