Egyptian label converter Cellopack is set to install the first OMET iFlex 440 press, according to an announcement by OMET on 15 May 2026. The investment introduces the wider 440mm version of the iFlex platform to the market, expanding from the 370mm width previously associated with the range.
Cellopack, founded as a family business, employs 380 people and operates in coating and converting of self-adhesive materials. OMET said the company supplies printers in Africa, the Middle East and Mediterranean markets, while also serving Egypt’s label market with custom-made labels.
The new iFlex 440 selected by Cellopack will be a 10-colour LED configuration. The press will include OMET Cold Foil Saver technology, self-wound lamination, Peel & Seal for multi-layer label production, and an ECDC die-cutting unit. It is also prepared for future integration of a digital bar for variable data printing.
For label converters, the investment is significant because it combines wider-web flexo capacity with inline finishing and embellishment options. The inclusion of LED curing also reflects the continued move towards lower-energy curing systems and faster production readiness in label printing. The cold foil saving system is intended to reduce foil use, which is relevant for converters managing material costs in premium label applications.
Mohamed Hamza, Managing Director of Cellopack, said the company chose the iFlex 440 after reviewing available printing presses. He cited print quality, the manufacturer’s reputation and service support as factors behind the decision.
The installation also strengthens OMET’s reference base in Egypt and the wider Middle East label market. For the region, it points to continued investment in flexo presses that can support self-adhesive labels, multi-layer constructions, foil decoration and future variable data requirements within a single production platform.
