Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) launched a limited-edition packaging activation across its markets to support the FIFA World Cup 2026, introducing specially designed beverage packs and promotional initiatives that engaged consumers through retail channels.
The campaign centred on limited-edition Coca-Cola packaging carrying FIFA World Cup branding and promotional features. According to CCEP, more than 15 million Coca-Cola Original Taste and Coca-Cola Zero Sugar 500ml PET bottles featured officially licensed Panini FIFA World Cup player stickers, integrating collectible content directly into product packaging. Consumers were also able to personalise a digital sticker through Coca-Cola’s online platform.
The initiative formed part of the company’s wider activation for the tournament, which included promotional campaigns across retail outlets and customer-facing activities. Packaging served as the primary medium for connecting consumers with the event at the point of purchase.
The campaign was rolled out ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026 tournament, with CCEP working alongside retail customers to distribute the promotional packs across participating markets. The company stated that the programme was intended to create in-store visibility while supporting customer engagement during the global sporting event.
The limited-edition packs combined packaging graphics with digital consumer interaction and licensed football content, reflecting the growing role of packaging in promotional campaigns that connected physical products with online experiences. The use of collectible inserts within beverage packaging also demonstrated how consumer-packaged goods manufacturers used packs as platforms for seasonal promotions and brand engagement.
