SACMI Unveils Classy AI for Metal Packaging at LatamCan 2023 Conference

Classy-AI is the CVS22 artificial intelligence platform that classifies detected defects and displays them in a user-friendly manner

SACMI, a leading provider of technological solutions, will introduce its Classy AI interface for vision system control in the can-making industry at the upcoming LatamCan 2023 conference. The international event will be held in Mexico City from July 12 to 14, 2023, and will serve as a platform to showcase SACMI’s revolutionary vision system management tool that utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms. Classy AI aims to simplify control of systems, improve quality and speed, and enhance process feedback.

LatamCan 2023, an important conference for the Americas and Europe, will take place at the Hilton Hotel in Mexico City. As part of the event, SACMI will deliver a presentation on July 13 at 9:30 am in the 3PC area, focusing on their “Next Generation AI-based vision system for the can-making industry.” The highlight of the presentation will be SACMI Classy AI, an advanced AI-driven interface designed to revolutionize vision system control in the metal packaging sector.

Classy AI is not a new form of control but represents a significant shift in how inspection is managed. The interface replaces complex technical interfaces with a user-friendly dashboard, allowing operators to easily classify defects into different categories (such as accidental, technological, decoration-OCR, measures, or specific) and identify their origins. In addition to identifying and highlighting defects, the dashboard generates quality statistics, enabling operators to promptly analyze data and identify any issues.

The major advantage of Classy AI lies in its ability to recognize not only individual defects but also their origins within different defect “families.” This empowers operators to efficiently manage the production line, filtering alarms and involving expert technicians only when necessary. SACMI draws a parallel between Classy AI and advancements in the automotive industry, where advanced sensors and digital dashboards provide comprehensive vehicle information accessible to non-experts.

The introduction of Classy AI for metal packaging follows its successful implementation in the plastics sector, where it has been used for vision systems in caps and preforms. By expanding its application to metal packaging, SACMI aims to provide an all-encompassing solution for vision system control.

The unveiling of Classy AI at LatamCan 2023 signifies a significant development in vision system management, promising streamlined control, improved efficiency, and better inspection processes in the can-making industry.
