Seven-Up Bottling Co. Ltd Partners with SACMI to Advance Bottling Operations in Nigeria

Seven-Up Bottling Co. Ltd, one of Nigeria’s largest manufacturing concerns, is making significant advancements in its bottling operations with the support of SACMI, a long-standing partner. Seven-Up Bottling Co. Ltd has a rich history dating back to Nigeria’s independence in 1960 and has remained committed to using the best available technology to package high-quality beverages on behalf of global brand owners.

The partnership between Seven-Up Bottling Co. Ltd and SACMI has spanned over 20 years, with SACMI supplying crown cap manufacturing machines to the company. This partnership has been further strengthened by the recent decision to invest in the development and modernization of bottling lines, with SACMI technology playing a crucial role in four out of the company’s nine plants.

Mr. Ziad Maalouf, Managing Director of Seven-Up Bottling Co. Ltd said, “Ensuring our customers get nothing but the best is our number one priority. That’s why we’ve drawn up an ambitious technological/plant modernization plan for all our production facilities. The SACMI range has proved to be a winner as it covers all the various needs of a modern bottling plant. In 2022 we successfully installed and started up four water and CSD lines at the Ikeja, Aba, Abuja and Enugu plants, while a fifth ‘hybrid’ line is expected to become operational at the Kano site by the end of 2023”.

One of the notable investments made by Seven-Up Bottling Co. Ltd is the SACMI Blo2Fill ‘COMBO,’ a stretch-blow molding and filling solution. The Blo2Fill system offers versatility and high productivity, making it an ideal choice for the modern bottling factory. With the SACMI Blo2Fill, the company can meet the diverse needs of various bottle sizes efficiently and reliably.

Three of the newly operational lines focus on stretch-blow molding, filling, and capping of carbonated soft drinks (CSD). The solutions include the SACMI ESF 12/120/20 filler, which can achieve output rates of up to 48,000 bottles per hour for standard 300 ml and 500 ml formats. The fourth water line features the AWS 12/60/20 filler, capable of producing up to 52,000 bottles per hour for small formats (500 ml) and other bottle sizes.

The integration of SACMI labelers, specifically the OPERA 400 RF machines, provides additional advantages in plant engineering. These high-speed labelers can apply up to 60,000 cylindrical labels per hour and are designed to keep pace with the bottling line’s speed. The automation and efficiency of the labelers align with the overall plant configuration.

Regarding cap lines, Seven-Up Bottling Co. Ltd has a long-standing partnership with SACMI in glass bottling. SACMI has supplied the company with crown cap manufacturing machines, including a high-speed line capable of producing 5,000 caps per minute. As part of the investment plan, Seven-Up Bottling Co. Ltd will expand its partnership with SACMI to include two CCM plastic cap-making machines, leveraging SACMI’s technological leadership, speed, quality, and low consumption advantages.

The ongoing partnership between Seven-Up Bottling Co. Ltd and SACMI demonstrates the company’s commitment to utilizing advanced technology and automation to enhance its bottling operations. By leveraging SACMI’s solutions, Seven-Up Bottling Co. Ltd aims to continue producing high-quality beverages and meeting the demands of the market efficiently.
