Siegwerk announced the release of its Sustainability Report 2025 in Siegburg, Germany, on October 5, 2026, voluntarily using a reporting framework to improve transparency and comparability ahead of legal requirement for the company.
The printing inks and coatings supplier’s report was prepared with reference to the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), which underpin the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). It covers climate action, responsible sourcing and progress under its HorizonNOW 2025 sustainability strategy.
An ESRS-aligned Double Materiality Assessment examined how Siegwerk affects people and the environment, alongside how sustainability developments could affect its business. It identified climate change, circular economy, pollution, workforce health and safety, and human rights in the value chain as the most material topics.
“The DMA gave us the opportunity to take a structured look at the sustainability topics that matter most to our business and stakeholders,” said Alina Marm, Head of Global Sustainability at Siegwerk.
Against a 2020 baseline, the company reported a 26.5 percent reduction in Scope 1 greenhouse gas emissions and a 100 percent reduction in market-based Scope 2 emissions. The latter was supported by its commitment to sourcing 100 percent renewable electricity across operations.
Siegwerk also launched SustainUP, a supplier engagement programme that received the EcoVadis Best Newcomer Award earlier this year. The company achieved EcoVadis Gold status in 2025.
The report concludes the HorizonNOW 2025 strategy and establishes a baseline for HorizonNOW 2030. The assessment findings will guide sustainability disclosures, action priorities and progress measurement, while reporting improvements aim to strengthen data quality and support comparisons with other companies.
